22th of October, the 15th Business Comnapy Award ceremony was held in the Mtatsminda Funicular Complex. The event was organized by Media Holding Georgian Times and Public Opinion and Marketing Research Association Gorbi. Representatives from the government, business sector, orthodox church, NGOs, diplomatic missions, local and foreign mass media attended the event.
Among the best Georgian companies was Rustavi Metallurgical Plant that became the winner in the nomination of “New technologies, New jobs created, Attractive business for investment”. Dr. Farooq Siddiqui, Director of Rustavi Steel LLC received the award.
Farooq Siddiqui, Director of Rustavi Steel LLC: “I want to thank the project organizers, experts and the participant companies. This award is very important for our plant. We received the prize in the nomination of “New technologies, New jobs created, Attractive business for investment. We are very proud to be the winner in such an important nomination. At present, the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant produces rebar, seamless pipes, square billet and various by products. The plant is on the way of intensive reconstruction and development and produces the high quality products for the local and foreign markets. One of the priorities of the plant is to continually hire new employees and make considerable investments in their training and development. The number of the employees in the plant from last year till present, increased from 1700 to 2100 employees and with the increase of the production capacity we plan to increase this number. We are preparing for the big investment projects after which, our plant will be the main employer in the country”.
