On October 7, Rustavi Metallurgical Plant Medical Center opening ceremony took place. Director of Rustavi Steel LLC, Ambassador of Japan, representatives of Red Cross and Ministry of Labor Health and Social Affairs of Georgia officially opened the medical center by cutting the ribbon.

Last year, within the “Promoting Healthy Life Expectancy” project, government of Japan with the support of Red Cross initiated to equip the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant Medical Center ambulatory with the modern medical equipment. As a result, the medical center is now equipped with high tech equipment and the patients of the center are now able to receive improved diagnostic and laboratory medical service and high quality medical treatment.

Rustavi Steel performed the complex repair works in the hospital sector of the medical center that occupied 300 sq. m., according the international medical standards. As a result, 6 new hospital wards are ready to receive additional 20 more patients in the hospital. Also, the new Intensive-Care Unit started to function that was also equipped according the international medical standards
